For Hire: Sandie & Pebbles

How cute is this? If you live in the UK you can rent these wonderful vintage VW campers. And they have names too. Sandie & Pebbles. Now that is very beach inspired. I am experiencing major disappointment issues that nothing like this is available here in Australia. If I could I would take off right now in one of these. Do you have a secret escape?

  1. They are adorable. I have long hankered for a vintage caravan to put in our backyard to use an office. I was even planning on airlifting one over the house until I found out a Melbourne woman had done so and smashed her house to pieces! x

  7. That would be my secret escape - my dream is to be able to take off in a campervan. I want to be one of the grey army down under when I'm older! But the new version of VWs are just beautiful and I would love to have one now with the kids and go on little adventures. Sigh.

  8. Hi Simone, thanks for stopping by my blog. The VW camper is so cute, it's a good fit out & would be a good vehicle to travel around the coast of the UK in.

  9. I have not seen one of these in years!. My friend Brian had one that dated back to the 70's... he got rid of it about 10 years ago? It was all white and did not look as nice as the one in the photo!.. I am surprised VWs aren't in Australia...they're fun to ride in..

  10. Oh these are just lovely aren't they!! My cousins have always had VW campers and travelled all round Europe in them....funnily enough, I did see a "vintage" VW camper just the other week, it was white and baby blue, and I noticed how the older camper vans sit much closer to the ground.....love them! That would be so much to hire one :)

  13. Look at that! The stove in the door! How cool! I've never seen one of those before. Well, I've seen the VW buses but not turned into a camper. What a great idea. So compact and it wouldn't be such a gas hog like the big motorhomes are! Now my wheels are turning! ♥

  18. Very cute! I would love to hire one of these and take a trip down the California Coast. My secret escape is our backyard, our pool and spa is finally finished and we are looking forward to enjoying it this summer. Have a great week!!

  19. Oh, I would love that here in the US too! We have beaches by us where you are allowed to drive your car right up to the ocean and fish from the shore, something like this would be perfection! Maybe I can talk my husband and brother-in-law into buying and refurbishing one? Hmmmm....
    Thanks for sharing!

  22. how clever of an idea is that?!! that concept would work so many places, here on cape cod and yes in your australia! a fun change from camping in tents. my favorite escape is always to the beach, either to paint, draw, take photos, read a magazine and of course to swim like a mermaid :)

  26. Oh yes, these would be perfect for those surf coast getaways. Am off this weekend for a few days near Lennox and this would be the most perfect mode of transport, those Wicked vans lack style compared to this little cutie.

  31. What a fab idea! Someone should do it on the east coast here. I have one in a post I did yesterday. It belongs to a girl in Hyams Beach who has had it restored with an all white interior. Have a look on my blog (its a new one, thanks to Anna S)
