Change = Mini Holiday?

Today I decided to change the slipcovers on one of our sofa's. I also bought a tall lamp from my local second hand store. I know it's only a small change but it feels like a new space and like I am in a new living room. So the old saying "change is as good as a holiday" now really rings true. Maybe there are some small changes you could make around your home to make it feel a little different and in turn make you feel like you are on a mini break of your own.

HI Simone. When i bought my lounge it was a debate between this one and a leather lounge from another store. I sometimes wish I went with yours as YES how great to change the covers for a new fresh outlook. Looks great! x Julie

I am always moving my furniture around and I love it. Makes it all feel fresh and new. When I moved my super huge bed recently i couldn't believe how much more space I had and how lovely it was to look out the window from my pillows..I kept wanting to get back into bed and lay there all day!

I've been doing just that by adding some pastels here and there, a few pink touches to my kitchen, new paint on living room and dining room walls, softer, lighter, sheers on the windows. Just little touches to freshen up the place without going 'hog wild' and breaking the budget!

Yours is really beautiful, comfortable, inviting. Really looks like a well-loved home.

One of my hobbies is moving things around in my house...I love change! I love that first moment you walk into the room after rearranging...it almost feels like a new house.

Oh, yes that is fun! I change little things all the time because I just get bored with what it looks like or I feel I can make it look "better"! My husband just rolls his eyes when I do this...but it is fun and it refreshes the room in my eyes! Take care, Caroline

So true, Simone and I need to make big changes too! I love your Nanna rug there. I have been collecting them but now trying to knit or crochet them myself (ahem) Have bought all the hooks, needles, yarn, books and that's that! xx

The lamp's a great find. And I love the pale slipcovers, perfect with all that natural light.

Made sa few mall changes today too. It soothes me while I'm sorting my thoughts on the larger ones on my list.

I totally agree with this. I re-arranged my workspace and I honestly feel more productive in there now!

Sometimes it's the little things that make everything feel fresh and new! (and second hand is even better!) I just made little accent pillows for my kitchen chairs, and that alone made the space feel new and different.

I love slipcovers for that very reason. You can bring in loads of bright color or really tone down the room using them. Unfortunately I like them too much so now have too many! Love gingham like the cute beige one in the photo!
