A Few of My Favourite ~White~ Things

Here a few of my favourite things this week. I bought some old suitcases and a hat box some time ago. I gave them a white wash last week. Also I found this old birdcage in my fathers backyard and gave it a once over it with a can of cheap white spray paint. And of course one of my trusty kitchen chairs which I found at the dump and painted white (and sanded it back a little). How fun.

  8. They all look great Simone. I love old suitcases. I have quite a few here and have played with the idea of painting them white. Do you have a particular white you love to use? xx

  9. I love them all, but most especially the kitchen chair! It reminds me of my grandmother's chairs (I only have two left), and they are a very faded pale yellow and already naturally 'sanded' back as they are so worn, but luckily still sturdy!
Great post! Thanks for sharing all your finds!

  19. Hi Simone,
I love all of this whiteness. Can you please tell me where you buy the whitewash and how you go about its application? I have been busily buying a few pieces of furniture and baskets lately (mostly inspired by your blog, I might add) but I'm uncertain about taking that next step to transform them.
    Cheers, Catherine

  34. Those are beautiful! Love the bird cage. It's really funny because when I got home from work yesterday I had home decor frustration, and sent my sweetie a text saying I wanted to spray paint all our "dark" accents white to make things brighter and more cheery. I may stop to get a can of white spray paint on the way home tonight! :)
