Project Day: I Want To Rock With You

To make these pretty paper weights you will need:
  • Some rocks ( try and get some with soft/round edges).
  • Some old doilies ( I picked these up from Vinnies for $0.50 each).
  • Spray adhesive (one of my all time favourite products).
After cleaning & drying the rocks I placed them on a doiley each and cut around making sure I left a little to fold and glue underneath. Spray some adhesive on the underside of the rock and wait until the glue feels really "tacky". Then simply fold the sides of the doiley under and trim away any excess. Leave in the sun to dry for an hour. Now you have some pretty paper weights for your desk. Have a fabulous weekend everyone. Thanks for all your lovely comments this week. Simone xx

How sweet would these looked plunked down on a desk or any workspace! I love it!
I have a big, old, long dresser in my front hall, wouldn't these look pretty lined up all along it? I'm dropping the mail off there all the time and these would keep it all in place nicely!
And next week I'm working on one of your other rock projects with my grandson! And also the shell one! What fun!
Thanks for sharing!

I love the rocks that u find on the beach that have been tumbled by the water. they are so smooth... Maui has a beach where there are smooth, flat, black stones.. those are great as paperweights.

Love the idea. I have a weakness for mixing rugged with pretty.

What a clever idea! I am not sure I could actually cut the crocheted doilies, though. Still, they are very pretty.
