  1. Where did you find that advertisement?
How funny to think of cocktail gowns and matching decor, nothing like a Loo with class!

  2. I remember colored tissue! The brand was Aurora, I think. It was taken off the market because the dye was supposedly dangerous....
I remember the tissue with little colored flowers printed on it, too.

  5. That is classic. I would love a big print of that in my bathroom. The loo roll is elevated to this iconic position! So lovely! xx

  7. Howdy Simone
Oh my gosh this reminds me of my grandmother.
I had forgotten how everything matched in my Grandmothers life.
She was such an elegant woman.
Even in her bathroom everything was soft ,and galmorous and matched in shades of pink :)
She had a large deep victorian claw foot tub and
she insisted that all young ladies take a bubble bath every night before bed time.
A very wise woman as I look back.
Thank you for the delightful post.
Wishing you a fabulous rest of the week.
    Happy Trails

  10. Ah, what a simpler, more glamorous time that was. I love how ladies used to dress up, like every day was a special occasion (and it should be)!

  11. that is lovely...I have a pink bathroom! hmm. I wonder why that went out of vogue. Was the dye okay for us to actually use? Oh my- that could get worrisome.

  12. Cute post!
I've seen pale pink and pale blue in the grocery stores, but not pale yellow or pale green!
My dream is for someone to make paper towels in different pastel colors, or at least in vintage prints or shabby roses instead of the nonsense I see on the store shelves.
Hmmmm. I think I'll start writing the manufacturers!

  14. Oh my gosh!! I was just talking about this the other day. Don't you remember the colored toilet paper?!?! I told my hubby when he was going to the store just last week to get pink toilet paper and he thought I was insane!!!! I always had pastel toilet paper growing up (and it smelled good too)! Maybe I'm just really old, but I remember it vividly, and didn't really realize they were extinct!! xxx kim

  24. Where on earth did you find that photo? I love it! They don't sell colored toilet paper here in the States anymore, which is a shame because one time I desperately wanted to toilet paper my soon to be ex-husband's truck, but I wanted to do it in pink toilet paper, since that was my favorite color and he would know it was me. (Trust me, he deserved worse.) Anyway, a friend of mine went on vacation to Europe and while she was there, found some pink toilet paper and brought it back to me. So, his truck got papered in lovely pink toilet paper one evening. And yes, he did find it a little bit funny... :)
