Where did you find that advertisement? How funny to think of cocktail gowns and matching decor, nothing like a Loo with class!
I remember colored tissue! The brand was Aurora, I think. It was taken off the market because the dye was supposedly dangerous....I remember the tissue with little colored flowers printed on it, too.
Now that is hilarious. I do really love that dress that she's wearing.
I would TOTALLY buy the pink stuff. Gone are the day that they offered pastel toilet paper. I miss those days...
That is classic. I would love a big print of that in my bathroom. The loo roll is elevated to this iconic position! So lovely! xx
Wouldn't it be great to have everything in that picture? I wonder who designed the dress...it is wonderful.
Howdy SimoneOh my gosh this reminds me of my grandmother.I had forgotten how everything matched in my Grandmothers life. She was such an elegant woman.Even in her bathroom everything was soft ,and galmorous and matched in shades of pink :)She had a large deep victorian claw foot tub andshe insisted that all young ladies take a bubble bath every night before bed time.A very wise woman as I look back.Thank you for the delightful post.Wishing you a fabulous rest of the week.Happy Trails
Oh Simone...I nearly forgot that toilet paper used to come in the perfect pastel colors. Wish they still did!! xoxoKaryn
Oh my such a gorgeous image to start the day! Thanks for sharing!
Ah, what a simpler, more glamorous time that was. I love how ladies used to dress up, like every day was a special occasion (and it should be)!
that is lovely...I have a pink bathroom! hmm. I wonder why that went out of vogue. Was the dye okay for us to actually use? Oh my- that could get worrisome.
Cute post!I've seen pale pink and pale blue in the grocery stores, but not pale yellow or pale green! My dream is for someone to make paper towels in different pastel colors, or at least in vintage prints or shabby roses instead of the nonsense I see on the store shelves.Hmmmm. I think I'll start writing the manufacturers!
Oh, how fun! I have never seen colored toilet paper before! Love the vintage ad...so pink! Take care, Caroline
Oh my gosh!! I was just talking about this the other day. Don't you remember the colored toilet paper?!?! I told my hubby when he was going to the store just last week to get pink toilet paper and he thought I was insane!!!! I always had pastel toilet paper growing up (and it smelled good too)! Maybe I'm just really old, but I remember it vividly, and didn't really realize they were extinct!! xxx kim
Oh so very pretty. xxx
Yes i love that big bow! Gorgeous!! x
Beautiful! Love all the responses to this too....I haven't seen pink loo paper for ages...hmmmmmm!
I think I may have been born to be in that advertisement.... absurdly wonderful!
I'm sure I should have been born back then. I can just feel it in my pastel pink bones! Lisa.
Hi Simone. Who knew toilet paper was a fashion must have!! Actually I do remember the colour versions. Seemed like a good idea at the time!! Fun.
What a GORGEOUS dress! Oh and the shoes! But seriously: I'm in love with that pink carpet. I can't wait till the husband and I have a house large enough that I can make a dressing room for my self.
oh my....i never knew toilet paper could look so inviting. i remember when t.p. came in all those pastel colors....now it's just white.thanks for the post.sue
Soooooooo Donna Reed!m ^..^
So pretty! I haven't thought of colored toilet paper in ages.
Pastel toliet paper was really made? Why did they stop or why haven't I seen it? Gosh I got a lot of questions over some toliet paper:) so I'll stop! Cute ad though. Daisy~
Where on earth did you find that photo? I love it! They don't sell colored toilet paper here in the States anymore, which is a shame because one time I desperately wanted to toilet paper my soon to be ex-husband's truck, but I wanted to do it in pink toilet paper, since that was my favorite color and he would know it was me. (Trust me, he deserved worse.) Anyway, a friend of mine went on vacation to Europe and while she was there, found some pink toilet paper and brought it back to me. So, his truck got papered in lovely pink toilet paper one evening. And yes, he did find it a little bit funny... :)
Now I love pink, but you gotta draw the line somewhere!...too funny!:o)
Oh, so very lovely! I remember colored toilet tissue and kleenex too! Thanks for the memory.
Hi Simone, I do so LOVE reading your blog and when I saw this recent post - it just made me laugh! Gorgeous pink dress! What a great ad and so reminds me of my grandma who loved pink so much she died her hair that colour (on purpose!) - Kind regards, Michelle

sometimes i wish i lived in those times. they were so glamorous! I love that dress!
Yeah right!!! The girl in the photo looks like a floating lady on a pink cloud. It is such a beautiful capture!!!
How hilarious....They sure had some interesting ads back "in the day"....I clearly remember "I jumped off the Empire State Building in my Maidenform bra".....Yikes....dating myself, huh!Blessings,Spencer
