Beach Vintage vs The Cupcake

my decorated dozen - not bad for my first go

you can play with all the colours you want...and then lick the bowl

Sharnel teaching us her secrets

Last Friday was a great day. I attended my first cupcake course hosted by the beautiful Sharnel from The Cupcake Company (they make the best cupcakes ever) . If you have not done this and you live in Brisbane you must certainly book in! I had the best time. For 3 hours we were shown all the secrets to make your cupcakes look amazing. There was lot's of taste testing along the way too. The best bit? You get to take your self decorated, one dozen cupcakes home! I am telling you there is nothing better.
Beware: By the time I got home there were not to many left to share. Is driving and stuffing your mouth with cakes a criminal offence?

For the next class email Sharnel here xx

  1. Such pretty cupcakes! This is my biggest weakness in life. Cupcakes. I can eat a whole batch on my own. I then want to barf, but will gladly eat another batch the next day without hesitation! Looks like a fun class - how can it not be!!!

  2. Not bad is quite an understatement. If I'd made those beautiful cupcakes I'd be so proud of them that I'd never eat them. Nearly.

  8. I went through my driving rule book ? and I couldn't find any rule about this so you were quite entitled to stuff your face with delicious cupcakes whilst driving!

  10. Very impressive. This would be a fun way to spend some time with some friends. I think not eating them would be a crime although maybe stuffing your mouth while not driving would have been more enjoyable.

  11. Nope, not unless you run into something whilst shoving one in your mouth! You picked beautiful, spectacular colors to frost yours with. Looks absolutely yummy!

  12. Good job Simone,

Cupcakes are a fav. memory of mine from the markets in your part of the world. There was one vendor-I think the name was Crabapple-had the most amazing choices of flavors-rose, violet and lavender.

Only crime-you being too far away to share them with us!

Now you really are a yummy mummy!

  13. Hi Simone, what a great day, and they look delicious! I think it is a small crime to be eating them while driving, and it makes it a bit hard to talk your way out of it, with your mouth full!

  17. Hi honey!

That last sentence of yours did make me laugh!
Your class sounds fabulous....I am doing a cupcake decorating class just the week after next,I can't wait :) Luckily mine is just across the road from me so I can eat all the way home!

Thanks for your little note on my blog, so nice of you to wonder about me....we went to Italy at the end of October and I feel like I haven't stopped running since I came back, I just can't keep up with my blogs.

But I have had a very productive week-end and hopefully normal service will now be resumed.

Hope you and yours are well :)

    Simone xo

  20. Simone, your cupcakes look wonderful! So cute and sweet. I love that you couldn't resist trying some on the way home. I can never resist cupcakes myself. I always tell myself because it's just a cupcake, it can't have anywhere near the calories of a regular piece of cake. LOL.

I love all the colors too!
I may give it a whirl with Christmas colors in a few weeks.
And then it won't be too long before Spring and Easter! (Not that I need an excuse to eat cupcakes! And those colors are so pretty, I may have to make a batch of pretties for Thanksgiving here on Thursday!)
    All the best to you,
