I couldn't resist buying this crochet doiley a few weeks ago. I have never seen one like it and the colours are just so amazing. Every time I look at it I feel happy. Vintage doilies are a great way to add a little touch of nostalgia around the place.

ReplyDeleteI have an old neighbour from the 70's who used to crochet me either a hanky or a doily in that style for every birthday and Christmas. I have a little collection of them in my keepsake box as I treasure them and my memories of dear old 'Mrs Pat' who is very old now and unable to create her masterpieces any more due to arthritis and poor eyesight. This one of yours is just sooo 'Mrs Pat'! A-M xx
ReplyDeleteNow that is truly beautiful...and I'm very jealous

ReplyDeleteVintage furniture have always attracted the passionate customers. Most often, in auctions vintage chairs are sold at high prices.

Oh so pretty, my nanna had some like these! I'm currently collecting plain doilies to make a table runner, hope it works out! x
ReplyDeleteI have one of these, my mother picked up two of them somewhere and gave one to me. Yours looks newer than mine, though, and the stitches are a little different, mine is more cream colored where yours is white and the flowers on mine are more faded. I do see these from time to time in antique/second hand stores, but they are not overly common.
ReplyDeletePS love your blog, I have been looking for one like it for so long, others are either full of overpriced finds or are just things for sale disguised as blogs...I was looking for fun, do-able tips for second hand decorating, and it looks like I found it here!
