Love Chris Isaak didn't know he had a christmas album, will be tracking this one down. His voice is so suited to our climate, he cools things down even though he is HOT (to steal my kids terminology). Will keep an eye out for some decorations for you Kristen has a hard time parting with his, hope you are having a lovely day, cheers Katherine
Good choice. Elvis and Christ Isaak are also my favorite singers for Christmas. If I listen these albums the Christmas atmosphere is immediately here. But last years I'm used to listen also little bit modern stuff but these are classics and I can't imagine Christmas atmosphere without them.
This year I am nuts about The Moody Blues! I am so hooked on listening to them! But I have my old favorites too like Dean Martin and Perry Como! All the best, Eileen
LOVE Elvis and gotta get me a Chriss Issak Chrissy album... can't believe the heavenly gift you have just bestowed! So far this year my listening has been a Phil Spector Christmas album called A Christmas Gift For You with lots of Ronnettes and the Crystals and not a hint of cheese.
I love the Home Alone 2 soundtrack and anything by Andy Williams. I also just bought and love, Straight No Chaser. I just wrote about them, they are the acapella group from Indiana University - and they are all young and cute!!!
i chuckle as i write this but i either enjoy holiday oldies, like the boston pops or ray conniff (!?), 80s hits like christmas rapping, classics like the nutcracker, and then there's the beach boys. a pretty eclectic mix! LOL
Oh yeah! I also love Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. However, I truly prefer instrumentals like Mannheim Steamroller, Trans Siberian Orchestra, and George Winston. Music by any of these truly put me in the Christmas spirit...
Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan all the way. xx
ReplyDeleteMy new Christmas album is called "Straight No Chaser".
ReplyDeleteChris Isaak Christmas? Why didn't I know about this? I love him - must get it!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to listen to it in the car or my sewing room, though. No one else in my family can stand his crooning. They don't know what they're missing!
Simone,
ReplyDeleteLove the album covers as much as the music inside. Give me Slim any old Christmas!
