My Vintage Locket

I don't wear a lot of jewelry. I am often the one at the glamour ball with nothing other than a vintage dress and some neat shoes. So when I spotted this necklace for sale in a thrift store I had to stop and think twice. Will I ever use it? But it was just to pretty to leave behind. I wonder about it's history and who hand painted that rose in the centre. And who's photo's graced the inside? This all adds to the mystery and beauty of this quirky piece. I am once again in l♥ve.

  2. Hi Simone

The rose locket is so you! Even if you rarely wear it, I'm sure it looks pretty hanging some place you can admire it or even just laying in your jewelry box. You may not know from where it came, but it is now for you to keep safe and pass on to your daughter sometime in the future.

    Hugs,
    Tamerie

  3. That's beautiful! I have a heart-shaped one very similar. My dad bought if for me the day I was born. Its so sentimental and lovely, unfortunatly there's a tooth-mark in it from when I was small (and naughty)!

  6. It is gorgeous - such an unusual shape. Even if you never end up wearing it, it will always look beautiful hanging off a vase or a door.

  13. Lucky you, being often the one at the glamour ball whether it's with a necklace or without. Yes, this is ever so sweet and not at all yucky bling. In fact, it provides instant character.

  22. I too like old jewelry best. You know it has a history, but the magic is probably in the not knowing what history is. But imagining it.
