Welcome back...... it's 2010! I feel like a different person with all the rest and relaxation I have had over the past 3 weeks. Spent at the beach of course.
I hope with all my heart that you also had a great break. So now we face a New Year with new possibilities. I am very excited. Are you? I hope Beach Vintage will continue to inspire you.
Do you remember that scene in the Oscar winning movie "City Slickers" when Jack Palance (Curly) said :
[And then Billy Crystal replies] Mitch: Your finger?
Curly
: One thing. Just one thing. You stick to that and the rest don't mean shit.Mitch: But, what is the "one thing?"
Curly: [smiles] That's what you have to find out.

Would love to hear from you all.

Hello Simone! Welcome back. I'm thrilled to see you return I love that image. To me the secret of life is family and love. Nothing else. I cannot wait for this year. Bring it on! xx

ReplyDeleteThat's the tricky bit, isn't ti? Trying to work out that one thing? I think I try to keep my focus on family and our plans, then hope the rest will fall into place.
:)
That photo you have posted is your secret. That is what life is all about. What a beautiful picture. THANK YOU for sharing and yes I am looking forward to another wonderful year filled with so many possibilities.
ReplyDeleteHi Simone
ReplyDeleteThe one thing.......good health. THE most important thing in your life, ever. It brings, wealth and happiness!!
So glad you had a great time in Wooli. I love your blog and all your wonderful ideas, you seem like a happy lady. Me too!!
Di xx
Welcome back, Simone! So glad you had those 3 weeks of rest and recuperation/relaxation. We all need to take time like that...and the beach is the perfect place to do so.(Love the photo of your family!)
ReplyDeleteThat dialog in City Slickers has stuck with me for years. I am still trying to find that "one thing"...and I think that I have finally broken through. Painting is my one thing...at least for now. With the confidence I gained during the holidays (seeing the reactions to some of my work) I am ready to take some pieces to a "jury" and hopefully will be accepted into an art show. It's scary...because it's so personal. But it's time to take that step.
Looking forward to your posts...
Happy New Year!!!
Jane (artfully graced)
Happy New Year Simone! Sounds like you had a lovely break. All the best for 2010 xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Simone! Happy New Year! I'm so glad your back. I'm also excited about the new year and all the great things to come! It sounds like you had a nice relaxing break.:)-Jennifer
ReplyDelete... you know Simone, that 'one thing' could be so many different things to different people... but I think that the secret to a happy life is to consciously make a decision to be happy... to look for happiness in everything you do and to ask yourself "is this action that I am taking going to make someone else happy too"? I try to teach my boys about living in and appreciating 'the moment'... something that boys are pretty good at anyway. It helps that their school motto is "others first, self last". I chant that mantra daily to drum in the concept that thinking of others makes one happy too. My sentiments anyway! Lovely photo! A-M xx
ReplyDeleteI love the way Luke 10: 27 states it. And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
