I am not an avid reader. Magazines, yes I can do, but long novels I cannot. But nothing deters me from smelling and touching a vintage book. I took these photo's recently at the Beach House NZ. Aren't they just stunning. One day I would love to have a huge bookcase full of old books like this.

I am a mad bookworm (I also devour magazines too) And I love vintage books as well. And vintage childrens books like Ladybird and Little Golden books, Enid Blyton etc. Sigh. Such a lovely post and my small terrace if filled with books old and new! xx
ReplyDeleteI love old books too but the smell of them makes me sneeze. I have a freind who reuses old book to make amazing art. I have a piece of hers that I must post one day - it's a beautiful paper doll dress.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Even if you don't read them the look of old books on a bookshelf is fabulous

I am not a long books person either! I love reading short stories and really enjoyed A Woman's Europe by Marybeth Bond. It contains lots of true life stories and amazing experiences of women travelling around the world. I just used to read one story before going to bad:) As for the vintage books, they've certainly got something about them. I have a few vintage needlecraft books and love them! I really want a huge library room too with armchair near the window....
ReplyDeleteMy aim in life is to have a whole bookshelf full of old books too :D I just love them!
ReplyDeleteyou don't need to read them all- just surrounding yourself with them is enough- one day.....

I must admit, I do love a novel when I have the time but I also loves books as a decorating item. The outside cover is very important!! Love the ones in that second photo.

ReplyDeleteFab post!
i, have been forced, well, not forced, but it's been suggested and of course i follow, to read tons and tons of books for classes, so i cannot wait for summer to read something that i choose, that's not chosen for me! i love the textural element that books add to spaces. color and warmth too. those are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI've added old books to my search at my favorite junk haunts myself!

Oh, these look divine. Anthropologie stores have "vintage-looking" books that I like to drool over, but nothing beats the real thing.
