Project Day: Gone to the Birds

Remember that fabric I had yards and yards of? Well I decided to cover some lampshades with it. Click here to see how you do it. Then, I just couldn't stop. I made an extra large tablecloth and a cushion cover too! These will all go to the shop tomorrow for sale.
I am continuing my flood relief for Brisbane. Here is Jody's car, full of lunchboxes. Some kids started school without them this week because of the floods, so we decided to buy a heap and help them out. Next week we are concentrating on non perishables. Things like towels and soap are high on the list for many so we will buy what we can with the funds you have donated. And look at those sweets, once again kindly baked by the ladies at Lifeline Capalaba. These make people who have lost everything smile again! Thank-you.
Have a great weekend. Keep crafting and creating!
Simone xx

  3. Hello there! First of all I just want to say that you have been doing a fantastic job with the sandwiches etc. My hat goes off to you! (Do you say that in English????!)I think I need to get back to Oz!It's in hard times like these that the goodness and human solidarity is at it's best, devastating as it is:( Keep up the good work!

Now talk about beautiful fabric!!!!!! So so lovely. My question is do you have it in other colorways? I don't have yellow in my home so it would be hard for me to integrate it in my decor. Keep your chin up Simone. We're cheering for you here in France! xxIris.

  20. I have to say I love that fabric (I have a few yards myself but in blue and tan-the birds are aqua blue) and it's a completely ingenious idea to wrap that fabric around the plain white lamp shades to create new life for those shades and the rooms they will be in. Also, and more importantly, I am so inspired by your kindness and eagerness to help those in distress in your community. You making a larger impact that you know!!! xoxo
