Today I am feeling a little muted. I don't think I could take too much colour nor loud noises today. Over the weekend I picked some roses from my garden that had been bleached by our scorching hot summer sun. Mixed with some hand made soaps I started to see muted colours everywhere. And that's what I am liking today.Monday, February 7, 2011
~ Muted Monday ~

ReplyDeleteYou've captured your emotions very well in this photo. It's extremely pretty in it's simplicity. Come Friday you'll probably be raring for some vibrant colour.
ReplyDeleteHey Simone, was only chatting about you not half an hour ago were your ears ringing....ha. Sue(your friends mum)always asks me..have you seen Simone? So I was telling her about your flood efforts. I feel a bit the same way today, maybe the change in the weather and all the humidity. Love the milk bottle vase xx Katherine

Muted simplicity.... I think I'll adopt that theme to start my week too! With a big splash of pretty, naturally. My weekend flowers are fading too, but the cherished memories remain. Have a happy week & keep cool! X

Simply beautiful:-) Sometimes muted is best, I need some calm today too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors. I am so sorry to hear of all the problems your country is facing from Mother Nature. I hope the water recedes and the fires burn out and everyone can begin rebuilding and healing. Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteJust finished reading through your blog on the flood relief - now have tears in my eyes - not unusual these days - we were hit too - not as badly as some but it still hurts - we lost 40 years of business records (historical - taxation can come whenever they want now!) & a lot of my quilting bits & pieces. The stash of fabric & best sewing machine & some books were saved. Thank you to all who helped keep us going through those days of cleaning - it's still going on but with less frenzy!
ReplyDeletesometimes we need a break from overload and too much stimulation, love the softness of your flowers and soaps
ReplyDeleteI like the gentleness of this image.
ReplyDeleteHope you got to have a gentle day.
This is absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSome days are like that--those are the times to sit back and just sit.
ReplyDeleteYou have been soooo busy with your relief effort it is no wonder you are feeling muted.
Take care!
Melinda
I hope the roses cheered you up. It will get better. Trust.
ReplyDeleteI'm a muted girl, Simone, with pops of color... I'm guessing the opposite of you :-) Fading roses feel so comfortable, don't they?
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a little rest Simone. I love those colors :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia

ReplyDeletehope you have had some well deserved rest!!
ReplyDeletetake care of yourself!
When I heard about the cyclones hitting Queensland, my first thought was about you and the other Australian women I've come to "know" a bit through our blogs. Unbelievable that this could happen so soon after the floods in Brisbane. Hope you and your loved ones are all safe.
ReplyDeleteAw that's beautiful, it's a kind of pretty and modern still life :)
ReplyDeleteVery soft and pretty. Sometimes quiet, muted and peaceful are the way to go. :) I hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a simple, lovely picture. Very calming.
