~ Introducing Ellie ~

Every car I have ever owned has had a name. I always make up silly little names that I feel match the personality of the car. Well here she is. My 1962 EK Holden Special. I bought her last week in Sydney and she is on her way right now on a transport truck. She arrives here Friday. Poor little thing, hope she makes it OK. She has been sitting in a shed out west since 1980! This car has no rust. It is truly amazing. Everything is original. Just a few small adjustments to the motor and a buff and she will be ready to roll. I am one happy chappy this morning.

  38. Just love the oldies! No power steering, no automatic transmission etc... You really DRIVE these old cars. And personality!!
I often see oldies like these around here as rally clubs will often have a day up here in the hills. Great drives.
Have loads of fun driving Ellie. I remember driving a few like her in my youth. 'Bettina Cortina' springs to mind ;) (Crank out the walking stick)

    Again, Ellie is a beauty!
    Good luck together!

  55. congrats, has she been run since 1980? if not check the brake lines and brake fluid and the carburator may need a rebuild and the fuel tank drained. We have had many an old car, this one reminds me of my 1956 Plymouth and 1954 DeSoto.
