Can there be a more perfect way to spend a week? Not for me my friends. I am back from a week away in Northern NSW at one of my favourite beach towns: Wooli. The locals asked me not to blog about this place too much. It is a well kept secret hideaway that has escaped development and crowds. Lots of people ask "Where is Wooli"... and that's how I like it. Long stretches of beach all to yourself. Lot's of places to have a picnic...with no neighbours. Here are some photo's I took while away. Have lots to talk about this week. Hope you are all well. Simone xx
Sounds like HEAVEN! I haven't been to our belgian coast in years... It looks so awful with apartment buildings all over and far too crowded... but... just over the border... not so far away... is... France! Sigh, what a difference! Still not NSW and Wooli I'm sure but still. Bye, Marian
Your secret is safe with me, and another 2000+ of your best friends ;) So long as we all don't try to book a weekend at the same time no-one will ever suspect you've been so generous with your 'local knowledge'. It certainly does look like a fabulous place to spend a relaxing few days.
Lovely to see you back! Cute pic of your little wet dog gazing out..wherever with the water in the background. I'll tuck the name of that 'secret place' away in my memory box just in case I need a getaway sometime.
So idyllic! That cottage is gorgeous! I could use a trip that like myself right now. We used to go there as well as kids back in the day. Don't worry, your secret is safe with us. Nice to have you back! xx
Oh my goodness this place looks awesome!! I bet you came back so relaxed after being there for a week!Looks like everyone had so much fun.Really like the photos.
Mmmmmmm....looks like a secret piece of heaven...bit like Currarong on Jervis Bay...yes don't share to much... your little girl is looking so gorgeously BIG! why do they do that to us!!
Hi Simone, Ohh You are making me jealous. Need to Get Away for holiday. This look so relaxed and slow life movement-y . Perfect!!! Have come into shop a few times to say hi...but never seem to catch you. Would love to meet up and say hello.
Hi dear Simone this is uncanny for me.. I've been trying to remember for years the name of a place i visited in my 20's.. and it was Wooli... that shopfront is exactly as I recall all the little houses lined up against the water.. [or I am having some strange altered memories.. hahaha]... The funny thing is i recently met some ppl here in Sydney.. from up that way.. and was recalling how much I liked it..
Have a lovely week.. and thanks for your kind words on my blog birthday post.. so appreciated.. ciao xxxx Julie
What a perfect getaway. :) I find myself lucky to live near the beach. There's just a soothing feeling of the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves. Take Care Simone! :)
I totally get it Simone. All I can say is a week isn't enough! Did you stay at that divine beach cottage? Right on the beach. Adore that first shot. Glad you had such a great time. You so deserve it. What a first term. Hope school life is treating you both well. Pruxxx
Beautiful pictures and I don't blame them for not wanting to share the location. Sometimes the greatest things are the best kept secrets. :) So glad that you had a wonderful time. :)
Did you stay in the Blue Shack again? We have had a holiday there in the past. It is a little bit of heaven and one of my favourite places. Hopefully not too many people find this part of the world - being away from it all is what makes it magical.

These are great holiday shots. I live in Sydney and must say I have never heard of Wooli. Even though I am a great lover of Northern NSW.
