Project Day: Cake Wrapper Candles

Tried in vane last Friday to post this but alas blogger was AWOL. So here it is on a Monday - which has never happened before! Happy Monday.
My friend is down and out. I am spending the weekend with her and I thought I would make some special candles that we could light at night and drink some wine by. Hopefully cheer her up a bit.
  • Grab some cake skirts/wrappers.
  • Buy some round cheap candles [mine from Ikea bargain bin for $2]
  • Place the cake skirt around the candle and secure in place.
  • Light the candle and place them all around [ please never leave a candle burning unattended].
A nice touch. Would be great for parties too.
Have a great weekend everyone. Simone

  22. Arhh these are soo cute Sim! Hey it's Natty, your ballet buddy! Do you have Facebook honey? I guess your blog keeps your busy enough! I was recently on the Gold Coast and we went to Mount Tamborine - found this gorgeous tea room which reminded me of you immediately! I'm sure you have been there already, but still thought I would post you their website, http://www.teaandniceties.com.au/ unfortunately, their website doesn't have enough pic compared to their brochure I picked up. I'll scan that and email to you.
    Love Natty xxx

  34. An important thing to add here is -plates under tea lights ALWAYS. A friend of mine almost died (severely broke her back jumping from a burning building) because of not putting tea lights on a plate....they burnt through and set alight to the bath tub enamel...Very pretty though! xxx
