Is it selfish to claim a whole month as your own? And to name it after yourself? I got this idea from a friend last year and I have been planning it ever since. You see she turned 40 and took a month off and claimed it as "the month of herself". Now it's my 40th Birthday and I am doing the same. I am so excited. I have a few weeks booked in a beach house in Northern NSW and then off to Hamilton Island with my girlfriends. Blogposts over the next month will be images from "The Month of Simone". Wish I had thought of that...I turned 40 in July and only managed to fit in a 3 night break in Surfers before heading back to NZ to pack up my family and life and move to NSW! Happily settled in Port Macquarie now though...loving the Aussie spring weather :)

ReplyDeleteHappy 40th! My birthday tends to last a month or longer whether I claim it or not. :) My 40th was my favorite birthday -- I hosted a sit down dinner for 20 friends with the help of a few. We actually served the guests a 5 course meal all made by us. I received handmade gifts. It was a wonderful evening. Enjoy the month of you! Best wishes, Tammy
