I am in a pool tile dilemma! Whilst walking past "Signature on Hastings Street" my favourite shop at Noosa I noticed the stunning aqua towels in their window. The beautiful towels only helped to add to my indecision and the beautiful photos on pinterest confused me further. Should I go with navy blue pool tiles or aqua? I can't decide and would love to know what you think green or blue ?
Happy Monday have a great week. x

Either would be great, but here (US) pools have been aqua for decades (though not with beautiful tile, but still,"the aqua look" ~ I am so intrigued by the way the dark blue looks, and how it makes the water reflect...♥ Just MHO! ♥
ReplyDeleteLovely blog~ I'm a new follower!

The dark blue is gorgeous!Reminds me of ink- rich looking.
ReplyDeleteOh I think the aqua looks so tropical and refreshing plus those towels do look wonderful. Kiss noises Linda
ReplyDeleteFor me I definately would go aqua. The lighter colours of the mediteranean. take care, Maryann
ReplyDeleteYou know, I like aqua!
ReplyDeleteI asked my Hubbie and he voted aqua, also.
Both are lovely.
I find aqua a little more serene than a vibrant blue. x
ReplyDeleteI vote aqua tiles - I reckon it'll look more summery that way, fresher and lighter.
ReplyDeleteThis crosses everyone's mind when they are doing a pool and it's an important decision isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI went with blue and we are happy with that. A house we stayed in recently (at Noosa) had a light blue tile that was nice too. A neighbour of ours said she sometimes gets a funnel web spider in her pool so I didn't want it too dark.
You can check out my blog and see the Noosa house & there is also photo's of my pool on the blog too.
Good luck with it all

ps: love Signature too, how good is it. ; )
Ooh thats one of my fav shops too I always go in when heading down to Brisbane a Noosa stop has to be done, now I was only talking to Joshua yesterday in our pool as he said "mum why did you choose blue & not green for the pool"? "I feel like I am in the ocean when I want to be feeling like I am swimming in a creek", bless he is only 9yrs & comes out with all kinds of conversation starters so ocean or creek I guess tee hee happy choosing!! :)) x
ReplyDeleteAqua! What about aqua tiles with a navy band up the top? The best of both worlds and both colours look great together.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the decision!
I vote for aqua! (but that's probably because ours are navy blue, and I like change - lol)

being a practical person and knowing where you live, navy is definitely a no... as the water temp will be too too hot when you want it the coolest, lighter colours will absorb less heat, science always rules!
Deletefrom an artist an former Brissie pool owner!
My hubby is in the pool industry, and he would say it depends how you would like the water colour to be, as the colour reflects...Also, if it is concrete or fibreglass,so many things to think about! If they are for the whole pool, the aqua may make the pool look a bit like a natural water hole.So if you are after a more formal look, Id go the blue...does that help?
ReplyDeleteI vote aqua too! I have an aqua bool and there is not one day that I don't LOVE it!!! X
ReplyDeleteNow Navy would be fun...but...aqua always looks so inviting! Gee wiz not an easy choice! xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteI am partial to navy. :)

I once found myself in that same quandry...I went with dark blue. The tiles I LOVED were a busy blue and white pattern and were EXPENSIVE. So I spaced them out with plain blue tiles in between. I love the classic look. But I do have to say that they are hard to keep clean. I have to pumice them every summer. I would think with aqua the water spots or lime build up, whatever it is, wouldn't show so much.
ReplyDeleteHow about White tiles!! our pool is white, & the water color appears to change depending on the sun angle & the color of the sky. It is really wonderful to look at it. Our friends don't beleive it is white, but rather Aqua.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone you have definately helped me make my mind up x
ReplyDeleteHi there! It sounds like you've already made up your mind, but I just wanted to add that I would definitely go with navy, it looks so luxurious and mysterious, like swimming in molten metal! xxx
