Project Day: Modern Christmas Napkins

Dear Mum,
This year we are not going to use tacky Santa Claus napkins from the two dollar store!
Here's what we have made from some lovely heavy weighted cotton fabric for the Christmas table setting.
All we did was make a template 46cm x 46cm and cut out the napkins. A simple over locked and then hemmed edge and we are done.
So mum, this year you can concentrate on the things that we love about you. Like making roast chicken!

Project Day : $7.50 Chairs Recovered

Picked up these chairs from Ebay recently. $15 the pair. And although the style was perfect, the fabric on the seats was not. Having a mix of kids and dogs around the table frequently it was time to recover them in something more "practical".
Here's what happened:
  • Seats were removed by unscrewing joins underneath.
  • Oilcloth was the decided fabric choice for the recover. Yes, just wipe it down with a damp cloth when the spaghetti sauce falls down on it.
  • Seat bases were laid down on top of the fabric and 2 pieces were cut. Leaving enough room around all the edges for the recover.
  • Using a staple gun pull the sides up and staple securely all around. Use good tension.
  • Re attach the seat bases.
The laminated oilcloth used was French Eden in Pink
This pattern also comes in Blue and Red.
20% off this weekend on ALL oilcoth. Use coupon oil20.
Happy Crafting. Happy Weekend!

Peep at Pams

Don't you just love a house that actually feels like a home ? Take a look at what Pam from Bayside Rose has created. A beautiful space for herself and her family, Pam really has the knack of pulling things together. Last week she hosted lunch and it was fabulous to see up close all of her talents & wonderful treasures. Sorry for taking so many pictures Pam. Don't you just love the mismatched cushions, sofas covered in fabric, a simple tablecloth and all the details. Its doesn't take much, just a little thought and inspiration.

Dearest bloggers, friends and followers. There is some exciting news to be told.
Beach Vintage has been inspiring people for almost 3 years now. Creating, crafting and sewing its way into the lives of listeners in blogland.
This will not stop.
As you may know, a love of sewing and crafting induces a love of fabric. And finding nice fabrics can sometimes be hard. Finding nice fabrics at reasonable prices almost impossible.
So now after 6 months of behind the scenes work it is time to launch a brand new website under the Beach Vintage name.
www.fabrictraders.com.au
Welcome to a new fabric experience.
