Project Day: Studio Curtain

A busy week. We had some special visitors from a national magazine. We cannot reveal anything yet, but we will soon. V Exciting.
So we had to make a special curtain for the occasion!
Using the patchwork method we sewed a whole heap of our fabric (in pre-cut squares) together.
Then some floral opened edged lace trim from an op shop in Mullumbimby came in handy for the top encasement for the curtain rod. Easy peasy.
After a few hems & pressing it was done.

Now I am in the furniture and fabric decision making process and it is just so hard to decide..... Project Day: New Cupboard Lining

Next week we have some very exciting visitors coming to Beach Vintage so things that have needed doing are getting done around the place. Including the front doors of the kitchen pantry. Some of you may recall the previous covers were patchworks of vintage wallpaper samples. After 2 years they were looking a little worn out.

Yesterday was time to jazz them up a little with some oilcloth. I used this design. Simply cut roughly to size, smear some white craft glue quite generously all over the front panel of the doors and smooth down with an oven glove. Leave to dry for a few hours and trim with a ruler and stanley knife. ( No they are not my hands but, alas, my husband is now even involved poor bugger).

I also completed something similar in the bathroom a few years back and it's still looking great.

Oh No the dreaded detox

I am not sure about you but we had the most wonderful indulgent christmas full of food, fun, family, friends and lots of bubbles. Now the new year is here oh dear and I guess its time to detox, last night in my house we had a very healthy boring and miserable dinner of chicken salad yet we were both dreaming of pasta and beautiful fresh hot bread loaded with butter. Its a dreary day here and the rain is bucketing down today so I am really dreaming of pasta now, hope its not dreary where you are! Don't forget our mega weekend store sale ends tomorrow! Christmas Leftovers

I know Christmas is all over but here are some leftovers from my Santa Stocking.
I topped my new retro cookbook off with a fresh Frangipani from my garden this morning. It is in a mini vintage glass vase. One of my favorite things ever. I love mini floral settings.
Hopefully together, they will give out some inspiration for lot's of 2012 cooking adventures!
