Project Day: Oilcloth Scales

I have a love hate relationship with my scales (unless they are measuring sugar for cupcake recipes). I thought I would jazz up mine this week to try and take a positive spin on the dreaded thing.
  • My scales are from Ikea.
  • Grab some oilcloth fabric ( I used Paradise Pink from HERE).
  • Turn the scales upside down and lie on the wrong side of fabric.
  • Trace around your scales to replicate the shape.
  • Cut it out.
  • Put it on top of the scales (right side facing down) and mark where the window is (do we really need to see it?).
  • Cut the space for the window & make any small adjustments around all sides so the piece of fabric sits nicely on top.
  • Use a generous amount of craft glue on the top surface of the scales. Smooth around with fingers (messy I know but the best way).
  • Stick your fabric piece on top & leave a few hours to dry!
Lets celebrate!
We received a HUGE shipment of oilcloth yesterday & now stock over 100 different styles.
Take your pick from vintage florals, stripes or modern prints.
ALL 20% off, ALL weekend!
Use code: oil20 at checkout.
FREE shipping for orders over $80.
HAPPY WEEKEND.
Simone & Jody.

We Agree on Dear Stella!

It is not often that Simone and I agree on a range of fabrics as we often have very different ideas about what we like. However this week we are both in complete agreement and love our new Dear Stella cotton range that just arrived from the U.S.A.
The quality is beautiful and I am picturing a navy and pink room in the new house maybe something like the one above! I have added a few photos but there are lots more in the range please click on the Dear Stella link to view them all.
Also please email us a photo of what you have made with our fabrics as we love to see what you have created.
If we publish your creation on the blog we will give you a $10 fabric traders store voucher.
Have a great Wednesday Jody x

Home Made Weekend

The weekend is over but I can't stop thinking about the wonderful home made bread we made on Saturday morning. We got a bread machine recently and now we are hooked. Whipped up some bacon & eggs to go with it.
Just beautiful.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
Happy Monday.

We are loading them on the website now and all will be available to purchase tomorrow.

Pool Dilemma!

I am in a pool tile dilemma! Whilst walking past "Signature on Hastings Street" my favourite shop at Noosa I noticed the stunning aqua towels in their window. The beautiful towels only helped to add to my indecision and the beautiful photos on pinterest confused me further. Should I go with navy blue pool tiles or aqua? I can't decide and would love to know what you think green or blue ?
Happy Monday have a great week. x

Bring the Outdoors In...Or Vice Versa!

People say "bring the outside in". That's nothing unusual for me. Most of the time I am doing all sorts of crazy things like taking indoor stuff out and dragging outside stuff in. A metal garden chair can look great in a bathroom with a nice cushion. And an old armchair can be recovered in outdoor fabrics and taken out.
See these new fabrics we just got in?
They are all Indoor/Outdoor fabrics, made especially for sun rooms, verandahs or decks. Mould, stain and weather resistant. The colours are just fabulous.
So go ahead and take the indoors out....or is it the outdoors in???

Monday Dreaming.....

It is Monday morning and I have a lot to do today but I am again finding myself dreaming of other things. The rain outside does not help in my attempts to get moving. Anyway if I had a choice today I would hope that I could somehow click my fingers and be in New York City in the Springtime. Looking stunning like Tory Burch, heading to lunch at this beautiful table, eating some spaghetti (although I think I would be a little overdressed) followed by some magnolia cupcakes. I am a dreamer what can I say.......Have a great week everyone x
