To all our fabulous customers, this was a photo of us having a little celebration lunch together over the weekend. We were celebrating receiving over 1000 orders and over 1000 likes on our Facebook page since Fabric Traders began trading 7 months ago.

Thank you all for your wonderful support. We are enjoying every minute of it! We look forward to continually providing you with the latest fabrics and notions at the lowest possible prices!

Project Day: Customer Creations

 Oh my goodness, we have been overwhelmed with submissions from our customers. How clever they are for creating all these amazing home furnishings.

Firstly Renee gave a modern touch to her sofa with Cushions in our Richloom & Waverly Fabrics.

Linda created an outdoor awning in Mill Creek Black & White fabric. She then mixed it in with some cushions in Wildwood Floral for her daybed.

And lastly, Karen recovered her retro outdoor chairs in Faylinn fabric. So cute!

We have so many more but can't fit them in this week!

Versatile Oilcloth

I have oilcloth on the brain today, it was huge when I was young and I am amazed at how versatile it is.

It is also very much back in fashion! Here are a couple of  pictures of some clever things people have done with oilcloth.

Project Day: Pom Pom Tablecloth

As promised here are the step by step photo's of the Pom Pom tablecloth I made for Mother's Day last weekend. Such an easy project.

No words required really. I just pressed a hem, sewed all round and added the trim last. Tip: Mix colours! Be bold!

I used Key West Heavy Weight Cotton and Hot Pink Pom Pom Trim.

~ An Old Saying ~

There is an old saying in retail made famous by Harry Lea, creator of Darrell Lea Chocolate stores.

His theory was if you stack products high on top of each other people will tend to buy more.

I guess this would work well in a chocolate store!

That's what my husband said to me yesterday morning when we woke up to Mother's Day.

You see I was putting on lunch for his mum that day and he had forgotten (yeah right) to buy a gift for her.

"Can you please just whip me up something...... like you do"

Geez , like I do? 

If he hadn't of bought me 2 bottles of French Champagne I may have said no.

Anyway, I made a simple square tablecloth from Key West fabric and edged it with Pom Pom Fringe.

Full tutorial this Friday.

Then I prepared lunch and started drinking my champa's.

Meanwhile here are some shots from my Mother's Day table . Hope you all had a cracker too!

Help Surrounded!

Can you see my foot in that second photo? Not long after I took that picture a bolt of fabric fell on my little toe! 

Ouch! 

Today we are busy in the studio trying to make room for more fabric, which keeps arriving and arriving! Lot's of New Arrivals loaded online today.

 

We have someone here today making more storage racks for us. Phew.

He is becoming a regular now!

Not Much Else to Do

It's a public holiday here in Queensland today. So there is not much else to do except pull up a blanket and have a snooze in the sun. It is such a glorious day. I am just so lucky that I can do it in my backyard!

Help Identifying Plant !

Couldn't help but snap this shot this morning. The yellow caught my eye. I have no idea what plant that is outside in my backyard but it's stunning.

 Does anyone know what it is?? 

It's perfectly matched to my darling Cockatoo Cushion Covers.
