Project Day; Magnet Board

What a great way to recycle an old photo frame... All you need is:

  • Frame
  • Fabric (we used Garden District in Mockingbird Pink by Heather Bailey)
  • Recycled metal sheet
  • Buttons
  • Magnets
  • Paint
  • Spray adhesive
  • Tin snips
Cut down your metal sheet with tin snips to the size of the frame then cut and glue your fabric to the metal. Put this together with your painted frame. Create some magnets with our beautiful buttons by simply gluing them together.

Have a great weekend.

Project Day - Remnant Lampshade

We found inspiration on Pinterest for this project. All that is required is some fabric scraps, pinking shears and a lampshade. You don't need your sewing machine for this project. We simply cut leftover fabrics into long strips, wrapped them around the lamp shade and tied them off. Finish off with pom poms.
Have a great weekend.

Whoa Baby, What a Day!

Yesterday was Jody's Baby Shower which took place at her beautiful new house. It was such a wonderful day. I am sure you can see by these pictures it was a delight. Everyone had a great day and with friends & family.
She wanted a navy theme but nothing over the top. We cut some of our Kirkwood in Navy fabric for the outdoor table runner. Lot's of fresh food and flowers (and champagne).
I am so excited for Jody, only 4 weeks to go! She has waited so long for this baby!
Happy Monday.Simone xx

Project Day: Opshop Blanket Quick Pillow

Geez I loved visiting my local opshop. I had not been for so so long. I have been so busy I forgot the thrill I get.
I picked up this beautiful crochet blanket for a few dollars last week.
Here's how I made a quick pom pom pillow from it.
Grab some pom pom trim and an insert (mine was from the ikea bargain bin).
Just fold the blanket in half and sew down two sides.
Add some pom pom trim.
Attach 2 buttons at the base so you can pull them through the crochet holes (to hold the insert in).
This took me about 20 minutes. Cost about $8.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Simone xx

Some pics I snapped around my garden yesterday morning. My favourite and most exciting one is of my lovely lemon tree. I am about to taste the first ever harvest soon judging on that colour. Here comes one HUGE lemon meringue pie! YUM.
