Even on the most fabulous holidays it's still nice to come home don't you think?

We have been away on a break last week but are back and ready to share some fabulous new fabrics and craft ideas over the coming months.

Project Day; Fabulous Easy Curtains

This week we have created beautiful inexpensive curtains using our Shirting Fabric and Mini Pom Pom Trim.

 

What you need:

• Shirting Fabric (we used Poly Cotton Shirting Easy Iron in Mint Aqua and White Stripe $4.99/m)
•  Pom Pom Trim (we used Mini Pom Pom Trim in Royal Blue $1.99/m)
• Matching cotton

Cut the Shirting to the length of your window allowing an extra 25cm for the hemming. Sew the side seams first then sew the Pom Pom Trim down one seam. Create a rod pocket at the top to allow for your curtain rod. Then hem the bottom. You will need an extra metre of the trim to use as your cord.

 

You can make these fabulous curtains for under $25 a drop.

Project Day; French Style T-Shirt

 

For this Project you need a plain white t-shirt, our 15mm Red Ric Rac 1.60/m and a french style ribbon (we used our Gingham Ribbon in Black $1.10/m).

Firstly cut your Ric Rac into 4 x 16cm lengths (this will alter depending on the t-shirt size). Once you have them in place simply sew them on.
Tie your bow and attach the same way.

This is a simple but very effective way to decorate a plain
t-shirt.

There is nothing like blue and yellow to lift your spirits and give an old piece of furniture a new summer look. Check out these beautiful Indoor/Outdoor fabrics....

Project Day; Rustic Table Runner

Any Rustic style of fabric is perfect for this project 

(we used Jumbo Chevron in Cloud Vanilla on Denton $23.99/m).

Simply cut your fabric to the width of the table runner you desire. If you require an extra long table runner you may need to sew two lengths together.

Fray the edges by pulling out individual pieces of thread down either side.

Tie the ends with pieces of twine.

Spring is full of colour and the fragrance of flowers. This is what we see from our studio window....check out our other floral fabrics.

Project Day; Magnet Board

What a great way to recycle an old photo frame... All you need is:

• Frame
• Fabric (we used Garden District in Mockingbird Pink by Heather Bailey)
• Recycled metal sheet
• Buttons
• Magnets
• Paint
• Spray adhesive
• Tin snips

Cut down your metal sheet with tin snips to the size of the frame then cut and glue your fabric to the metal. Put this together with your painted frame. Create some magnets with our beautiful buttons by simply gluing them together.

We always get excited when new fabrics arrive. Here is a taste of what has turned up on our doorstep this week....

Project Day - Remnant Lampshade

We found inspiration on Pinterest for this project. All that is required is some fabric scraps, pinking shears and a lampshade. You don't need your sewing machine for this project. We simply cut leftover fabrics into long strips, wrapped them around the lamp shade and tied them off. Finish off with pom poms.
