Last month we renovated our kitchen. I went with polished wooden "plank style" bench tops and nice crisp white cupboards. A very simple country look. I am very happy with the results too. I love my new kitchen. So why when I look at this magazine image do I wish I could rip it all out and start again?
Hi Simone,
ReplyDeleteAre you insane? It's beautiful! We just remodeled our kitchen too and I think I'd rather gnaw off my left foot that ever go through that again! Washing dishing in bus buckets for two months is not fun.
The wall color and contrast of the French doors really pops. What makes you want to rip it out and start again?
Hope you're having a great Monday...It's still Sunday here...weired!
I completely relate... there's always something new to inspire and excite in decor. I'm sure your kitchen is beautiful and will outlast anything new you find in the magazines. You have a beautiful blog, it's lovely to drop by!
ReplyDeletei just love this.
ReplyDeleteit looks like such a fun place to be.
I understand completely! It's not that you hate what you've done, you still love it, you just feel the need to love something different now! I do that constantly! My dream house is continually changing!
ReplyDeleteMy house is more color and I love it, yet right now I'm looking for 'less' colorful or at least a paler shade of color!
What a warm inviting kitchen - I laughed at loud at your last comment! I am planning white for our next kitchen and I would choose the same wooden worktops too - altho my husband probably wouldn't!
ReplyDeleteHappy Week-end!
Simone
I adore those salmon coloured doors!! And the pink chairs, how fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued... I would love to see a picture of your beautiful new kitchen!!??

Hi Simone,
ReplyDeleteI'm such a dork sometimes! I get it now...the photo is not your current kitchen and an image from a magazine that you like and it makes you want to start over.
This is just another fine example of my raging "foot in mouth syndrome"!
Frankly, I like the white... This one tends to be trendy...I remember when country was in w/the rose and country blue... I never was into that... White is classic .. Ever see Ina Garten's show? Her kitchen is all white, granite counters...Classy
ReplyDeleteThis is a very happy kitchen!! I love the fabric on the chairs, and yellow is always my favorite color! Sometimes I think it is best not to look at any picutres for a while after I re-do anything to avoid feeling like you are!
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
I am a fickle chick, too. You know the old saying, "The chase is better than the catch" -- it's just human nature. This is a weakness for designers in particular, I think, because we know how to work with everything, so there is no one best way. I do find the white kitchen easier to live with.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog.
Scribbler
that kitchen is beautiful, i'm sure yours is lovely as well! i adore your style!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure your kitchen looks fabulous but I agree, that inspiration kitchen is to die for! Loving that color combination!
ReplyDeleteI too relate..., there are so many great ideas and inspirational pictures floating around, and also I find it challenging to truly tap into the depth of how I want it, and then even when or if I do, I still want to change it again sometime later. Insecurity, confusion? Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteSimple kitchens are a must for our every roaming aesthetic eye and our appetites both.
ReplyDeleteColor can be captured and released every time the table is set with dishes, and veggies and fruit.
The shelves will be lined with rows of creatively crafted bowls, and pitchers and cups.
Enjoy the rotation of 'stuff'.
Just found your blog today...love the style...and the kitchen is amazing. look forward to coming back!
ReplyDeleteNot doubt your new kitchen is classicaly stylish there will always something new to inspire and excite in colours and decor and that why it is so much fun when you share.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Maybe paint some chairs pink?
ReplyDeleteStunning Simone! - I am sure you kitchen is gorgeous! I hear you though, I'm about to redo mine, and while I know i'm not going to be in it for much longr and hence shouldn't get too worked up about it - I'm too scared to begin as I'm sure I'll see something I like better as soon as the last tile is down! x
ReplyDeleteOh Wow this kitchen is soooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love that table, those chairs, those colors, everything it's absolutely fantastic!!!
It is definetly divine!! But when you look at it closely I really feel it is the personal touches like the miss matched chairs and the oversized arrangement on the rustic table, the mat etc that makes your heart stop. The best thing is that these details are the things that are easy changes in our homes not the bench tops and fittings.
ReplyDeleteReally really a colourful kitchens, looks so very lovable. Thank you for sharing.....
ReplyDeleteGranite is a beautiful and elegant stone. It is available in many stylish colors and finishes, which makes it easy to coordinate with your kitchen design or layout.
