Last month I posted about a necklace I had won and in the background was this shell artwork. I had a few people mention it so I thought I would post about it today. I made this by simply collecting 12 shells of the same type. Using clear nail polish I gave them all a quick coat. Once dried I then super glued them on the base board of a shadow box frame. Using a pencil I added the details of the shells and the location. It now sits on one of my coffee tables and constantly reminds me of our trip to Brooms Head. Have a fabulous weekend. Simone xx

ReplyDeleteYou have the most BRILLIANT ideas for the most significant craft projects: those that help us remember our favorite experiences. Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteLove your "shell" shadow box. Gives me an idea for my newly decorated "beachy" guest room. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I live near the coast in the northeast US and though I love them dearly, our shells are not very exciting, and most are pounded to bits by the waves before they wind up on the beach. The survivors seem to be the big clam shells, those you will find whole, but they are not very decorative....I use them as little catch dishes or as a soap dish sometimes.
ReplyDeleteTrips to FLorida, and especially the shell haven Sanibel Island, was a chance to collect tons of gorgeous shells....but would you believe I got rid of them over the years and only kept a few?
