I am looking for a bedside table for one of my spare bedrooms (which I have just redecorated).
I just can't decide what to go for. Whatever it is, it won't be conventional. These images are inspiring me today. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Hi Simone - they are all so lovely! I really like the blue chippy highchair - stunning!! I used an old white chippy stepladder in my bedroom makeover, I think it cost us $5 at a farm auction. I am sure whatever you end up using, it will be stunning! I can't wait to see what you end up using:) Have a lovely day - Tina x
ReplyDeleteO!
ReplyDeleteI like the chair :)
I like them all, but I think my favourite is the chair.
ReplyDeleteThe stack of books is great; I'd be having to dig in the pile, though, to find one to read :)
All those pictures are gorgeous. I wish my bedroom were that tidy!
Oh, I do so love the blue chair with those gorgeous roses - quite perfect!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your family!

Hi Simone love all these images. Whatever you go for will be gorgeous I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteSandy
I know whatever you find will be amazingly lovely! I like number 2 and 3...that chair is adorable! xo
ReplyDeleteI like the green one - its definately not your average bedside table!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Love the last image with the green bedside and the old highchair is very different too! I'm sure you will find something that looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeletenever easy to pick, but if you have a few on hand, just switch them up to keep it feeling fresh! Rotate with a guest room - works for me.
ReplyDeletei love the last one with that pop of color. great way to add a little life to your room!
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding your latest treasure. I'm sure you'll have some fun with it! There are some nice (cheap) pieces going on ebay at the moment. Just wish I had more room to store stuff!
ReplyDeleteGlad I found your blog (via Mels Rose Place)

ReplyDeleteWell I love #2 and #3. When I was younger I only had non-conventional bedsides.. I think I miss them... xx Julie
Go for some old suitcases!! (lol)I love them!!
ReplyDeleteDid you buy your books from The Book Depository (TBD)?
I priced one book I bought at 'Borders' today and it was $20 more there!!!! Mind you I have not seen all of the books I bought at TBD in Borders either.

So many lovely choices - can't wait to see what you pick! Leigh
ReplyDeleteI adore the last little green table!! I had a look last week in some op shops for some different pieces I'm after but couldn't find anything suitable. Hope you find what you're after. Enjoy your start to the week Simone x
ReplyDeleteI just love the chair! What a cozy and unique idea.

Hi Simone love the images hope you don't get this comment twice my computer playing up (probably cos the operator is rubbish hee) I am sure you will find something adorable, I love the old suit cases stacked I had some as a little girl, they got thrown out years ago, if only I had a crystal ball then!!
ReplyDeleteOh good luck with your decision! Thank you, the weekend was great. Have a beautiful week.
ReplyDeletexxx
I just adore the 3rd! Have a great week up ahead!
ReplyDeleteI adore the chair. Fabulous!! x
ReplyDeleteI LOVE number 3! That looks really cool.
ReplyDeleteThey are all gorgeous, especially that 1st one! xx
ReplyDeleteHello Simone, for me image 1 or 2. Happy election! Kisses, Ana
ReplyDeleteLove the first ones... :) Gorgeous little collection of images.
ReplyDeleteI've seen painted stools used as bedside tables and they look lovely and simple. And I really like the wooden chair, as used in one of your images.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm decisions , decisions , I think the top cane ones . They really are all gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteThe all look great, lately I have been loving chairs as side tables!
ReplyDeleteHi, Simone! I'd go with wicker! I love my bedside wicker table but unfortunately- so do my cats! ♥
ReplyDeleteOn a practical note, I find for bedside tables, a drawer is really needed. I went for a wee bit without one and found all those little bits and bobs ended up on the table instead of in.
ReplyDeleteHowever, that being said, those pics are yummy!
Lisa
Simone..
ReplyDeletewhatever you end up choosing..
it will be just perfect!
looking forward to seeing your choice!!
warm hugs..
Loui♥
Well, my vote would be a toss-up between photo two and photo three. I love the look of the floral material (or wallpaper, or whatever that prettiness is) under glass, and I think the glass would be easy to keep clean.
ReplyDeleteAnd I absolutely love the uniqueness of the chair as a bedside table! Especially such a treasure as that vintage one in your photo. I wonder is it a vintage baby's high chair? That's what it reminds me of. How dear that looks! And I love the idea of the side handles, no worry of the vase spilling over sideways!
Such a sweet idea, Simone! I may pilfer it from you if you don't mind!
Have fun decorating!
All the best,
Eileen
ooo lots of choice! I love all the ideas...maybe you need to take a piece of old furniture and add to it in someway - make it unique...not sure how but I bet you have plenty of ideas knowing you! and it will be gorgeous! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love unconventional. I almost screamed when my husband ordered matching bedside tables. MATCHING! I won't even ask what he paid for them. Of course I like to change things up. I like sewing machine tables and anything that looks vintage. Lo and behold, I ended up with matching bedside tables. Can you imagine? I'm wondering how long I should wait before "recommending" a change?
ReplyDeleteBrenda
So many nice ideas in this post! I love that little blue chair.
ReplyDeleteHappy new week!

Hi Simone
ReplyDeleteI love the third one with the chair. Very unusual!
x
I have been thinking about the same thing lately! Well, that and quirky storage ideas. Right now I'm using an old kitchen cart, which is nice cause I can store stuff in there haha, but its still not quite the right fit. These are great ideas though! My husband and I make furniture, and we made some bedside tables for a gal in Missoula, MT. You should have a look at them...I'm sure there's probably someone there in Australia who could make something similar for you! http://twigdecor.blogspot.com/2009/12/little-anthropologie-hack-for-ya.html
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your always amazing inspiration :)
Jana
Love the books... and the chair :) can't wait to see what you pick!
ReplyDeleteI really do love the cleanness of #1! All of the pictures found are quite inspiring though. Dont you just love the colors? Will you be posting pictures of your revamp? Have a blessed week filled with love, Cherie
ReplyDeleteHi, New to your blog, just blog surfing and found it, love it. I am one of your newest followers. What a dream, you get to live in this wonderful home. Your daughter is precious, my youngest was a toe head too! She now dies her hair to keep it that color. I will enjoy keeping up with your adventures of life! Oops picture comments, I have several piano benches that I keep re-upholstering and using as bedside tables. A little low though, but they work well for the guest bedroom.
ReplyDeleteThey are all great and which ever you choose will look wonderful once you add your touch.
ReplyDeleteNess xx
Love how the blue chair looks, but the surface won't hold much. Beauty vs. functionality. . . always a dilemma!
ReplyDeleteSimone darling, you are very welcome, my pleasure entirely. You and your blog deserve much more for the beauty, grace, charm and talent you post for our pleasure. I thank you for being an unconditionally kind follower…visiting me even when I am unable to return the visit and for leaving the most eloquent and sweet comments ever. Thank you luv.

Ohhh hard decision...but I love the last image best... a shot of colour looks gorgeous...I think you could definitely make it work in your home! x
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the chair. Since it's a spare room and you won't need the nightstand to be too functional you could have a lot of possibilities! You could even stack some old wooden crates up, suitcases covered with rose paper, books, shelves, cabinet...oh the possibilities!
ReplyDeleteHi Simone, Love them all! You can't beat cane. You can dress it up or keep it casual. I'm, not surprisingly, loving little travel trunks, hat boxes etc in a stack at the moment, and old chippy paint milking stools and small step ladders. I agree it's fun to use something different or as my friends say "that's odd" haha.
ReplyDeletethey are all so lovely!!!!!!!!
