I have always been a pretender. Ever since I was a child all I ever wanted to do was imagine I lived in some magical world.... somewhere. I while back I was playing with some vintage suitcases, chairs and birdcages that I had painted white. I got my daughter to get in and have a play whilst I took some photographs. I had forgotten about these images until this morning when I found them on my Mac. I thought I might share some with you today.
PS: Thanks for all your sweet kind words yesterday. xx
What a lovely picture :D
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! love the vintage feel of the photo!.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that!. I love to watch kids pretend...and I remember my kids pretending...all those cakes and cups of tea I consumed...lovely.
ReplyDeleteMade me smile just remembering all the pretending.. Thank you.
Such a cutie--One can't help wonder what is going through her head.

ReplyDeleteI agree, it's so important that littlies have the chance to use their imaginations which is often limited with the toys there are these days which seem to do everything for them. Cute photo :)
ReplyDeleteAt 36 years old, I STILL love to pretend. As a matter of fact, my blog is dedicated to everything dress-up!

ReplyDeleteHi Simone. I'm a new blogger from Melbourne and just found your site! I too love designing spaces on NO money - just second-hand stores, some elbow grease and, like in your post today, a bit of imagination. I'm currently furnishing and styling my parents new beach house in the coastal town of St Leonards, Victoria for the cheapest price possible! I'm gonna blog about it soon. Oh, just became a follower of yours too!

This is so precious, and I totally agree! I used to pretend I was running my own cooking show outside with dirt dust for spices, and mud for dough...and I would talk to the 'pretend camera' for the show! lol I just remembered that now, thanks to this post !!!

I agree with you Simone, that plays a huge part on a kids life, to be able to dream and be what they want to be, when they want to be... even if that "what" is a stinky bearded pirate haha!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE listening and watching as my girls play pretend. I am so amazed that they even instinctively know what's real and what's pretend. My favorite is when one's the "Mom" and the other is the "Sweetie".
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Simone! & Well done on your 1 year of blogging, your blog is certainly an inspiration & I am really glad to have found it.
ReplyDeleteI lived in a world of make believe as a little girl! (& still do sometimes!)
