Well here it is, after 4 weeks of renovation our bathroom is finally finished! Here are the before and after shots. We had a small space to work with but I am so happy with the result. I picked everything myself. The pebbles, tiles, fixtures and fittings. Here's what I wanted to achieve:
- To make it feel like an outdoor shower indoors.
- Mix modern with vintage.
- Allow natural light to be the main source of light within the space.
- Have the base colour of the room white/neutral - then introduce bright bursts of colour in between.
There is my green meat safe I was telling you about yesterday. Used as towel and toiletry storage. Add a vintage mirror, glass vase filled with shells, a few cute ceramic birds and of course flowers and we are done! So that's one down, one to go. Our other bathroom is next!
You will have to excuse me. I am off to use this baby for the first time! Have a wonderful weekend. Simone xx

It looks great! I love the great cabinet you recycled - such a unique touch!
ReplyDeletethis is so nice. I love the shower and everything. We have been thinking of remodeling our bathroom and sometimes it overwhelms me to even think about it, so this was sweet to see all finished and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's much more 'you'! I love the meatsafe and those pretty birds on the wall. They look like the Robert Gordon ones I was wishlisting on Peters of Kensington online :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
looove it!!! nice job :)
ReplyDeleteHi Simone-
ReplyDeleteWhat a great transformation from something so modern to your own style. I love the shower and how it makes everything look so uncluttered. I am sure there are modern lovers out there who would have loved how it looked in it's before state, but now it is perfect for you. What is so nice about it is that it is neutral and you can mix and match things in the future to change the look on a whim.
Hi Simone love your bathroom - what a massive difference. You didn't purchase that meatsafe in Brisbane by any chance at the Antique Centre did you? Sandy
ReplyDeleteIts beautiful.. I love that hint of color.. btw do u squeegee the shower after your done using it? I have to w/mine but I only have to do the door.
ReplyDeleteGood job Simone, sweet meat safe.

Hi Simone
ReplyDeletejust stumbled across your blog and wish i had found u earlier. we have a 1922 old house in pretty beach nsw and have been labouring over it for 2 years. it was a knock down but we saw it as an adventure. our bathroom was the ugliest in australia. we renovated it last year when i was very ill with morning sickness in the middle of winter. we have done something similar with the shower open and we had old claw foot bath that we re enamled. we also had to fit the front loader in there. u have inspired me with the meat safe for storage. one thing i regret is that we had white tiles on the floor, never again. with my hair loss during breast feeding, i use terry nappy to wipe the floor after showering. yeek the hair really shows up.
best wishes
jill
