Was That Time Again

Here are some snippets of my time away last month for the holidays.
Again I am drawn to the same place, the same people and the same experience of Wooli in Northern N.S.W.

Funny how some places just never loose there sparkle and for me that sparkle is about simplicity, easy days, the beach, shaking sand from my feet every time I head inside and forgetting what time it is.

Congratulations. Please contact me with your postal details!

As some of you may know I am moving house in a few months.
I am slowly de-cluttering and making way for the new.
It's Spring after all and I am loving all the new flowers and colours that only Spring can bring!

Many of you have been emailing me "Oh Simone, how can you leave that place".

Although I will miss my home terribly I am looking forward to creating another beautiful (and maybe better) place for my family to share the next chapter in our lives.

Vintage Sheets Have to Go

As you know I am moving house!
I have so many things (sadly) that have to go.
Do you know the feeling?
I have been hoarding vintage sheets for years & now they have to find a new home!
There are 9 sheets in total (one set still in original plastic) and 9 pillowcases.
Most are the old "double" size. The one in the original plastic is a single set (3 piece).
All are in near perfect condition.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Do you remember the times?

I grew up in a country town in NSW.
There wasn't much to do as a kid.

I remember every year our town would hold a festival.
There would be a carnival, rides and (my favourite) - a street parade.
Everybody came and supported the community and it was amazing fun!

Over the weekend we went to a small town in NSW called "Casino" for the annual "Beef Week" festival.

I just had so much fun!
It reminded me of my old days back home.

Here are some pics.

My favourite is me with the "gals" - beef week queen finalists. Bless.

This kind of thing just wouldn't happen in a big city.
Barricades would need to be erected for health & safety.
You would need to park miles away & catch public transport.
There would be no "hanging" over verandahs of the local pubs to get a better view of the parade.

So here's proof the "old days" still exist out there.

Happy Monday!

Well it's official.
We have sold our house.
As some of you may know, our house has been on & off the market for a few years now.
We were not going to sell unless we got what we wanted.
And we did.
So now my friends...... I am searching for a new home! How exciting.
We have also moved Fabric Traders into a commercial warehouse space.
So I have been so busy of late.
Hope you are all having a good Monday.
Simone xx

Inspired Today By......

Although I can't disclose just yet, my life is changing this year.
I knew 2013 was going to be an eventful year.
And there is lot's more to come.
Can talk more about that next week.
I needed some SERIOUS inspiration.
Has anyone seen Kirstie Allsopp's new DVD  "Kirstie's Vintage Home"?
My friends at Roadshow Entertainment sent me a copy last week to review.
So inspiring.
She has the knack for creating beautiful spaces that's for sure!
Take a look at some rooms she has created.
All shown step by step with some great projects in between.
It has my stamp of approval.
Have a great week.

Easy Pom Pom Dress

I purchased this plain cotton white dress online for $14.
I had always intended to add some trim to it.
Just so happens some new Pom Pom trims arrived this week and I just couldn't resist having some fun with them.
I simply sewed the trim on the front of the neckline.
I thought I was done.
But I continued to added some on the bottom hem as well.
Oh help me!
I have always been a sucker for Pom Pom Trims!

Wallpapering...has anyone tried solo?

I have wallpapered twice in my entire life.
Once was with my sisters when we did a feature wall for our shop.
The second was a few weeks ago when I decided to redo my daughters room.
Not sure there will a 3rd!
But I am so happy with the result.
I bought the wallpaper from PIP Home online. It's such a lovely print.
The bedside lamp was from an op shop for $1.
I got the side table for $29 & painted it with some left over pink paint.
I also hung a hoola hoop on the wall along with some rose fairy lights.
Have a great weekend.

Hello anyone out there?
Simone here from Beach Vintage. I need to talk!

The Beach Vintage blog was something I started in 2009 because I was passionate about all things vintage and thrifty and I wanted to share it with others.

Over the past 18 months my life has changed, and so has this blog.
An online fabric business and life's daily chores took over.
I guess we all have to prioritize right?

The blog had almost become a living thing, and I was beginning to despise it.
Can anyone relate?
"Delete it" went through my mind.
"Stop blogging" , yes heard that too.
And here I sit now, today, still not knowing what to do with this little creature I created all those years ago.

So I figure I am going to let things just "happen".
They way they always do in life.
What will happen to BV?
Don't know my lovelies.
